Global Halal Market Set to Reach USD 3.56 Trillion N.C.C. and Halal Science Center, Chulalongkorn University Join Forces to Connect Thai Business and Innovation with Global Markets
N.C.C. Management and Development Co., Ltd. has partnered with the Halal Science Center, Chulalongkorn University, to bring Bangkok Halal Expo 2026 together with Thailand Halal Assembly 2026 — integrating a business platform with scientific knowledge, standards, technology, and innovation. The collaboration aims to strengthen the potential of Thailand’s Halal products and services, build market confidence, and connect entrepreneurs to trade and investment opportunities as they enter markets with varying regulations and standards across countries. Bangkok Halal Expo 2026 will be held from 2–4 December 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), Bangkok.
The global Halal economy continues to expand steadily. By 2029, Muslim consumer spending across six industry sectors — Halal food, fashion, travel, pharmaceuticals and medicine, cosmetics, and media and recreation — is projected to reach a combined value of approximately USD 3.56 trillion, reflecting significant economic opportunity across a wide range of products and services in which Thailand holds strong potential.
Dr. Pornpimol Mahamad, Director of The Halal Science Center, Chulalongkorn University, said: “Thailand has fairly comprehensive strengths across the entire value chain — from agriculture and food to cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, health products, fashion and textiles, as well as services and tourism. At the same time, we have scientific knowledge, technology, and verification systems that help build trust and credibility in Halal products.”
“What matters most going forward is connecting these different components into a cohesive system — starting with science as the foundation for analysis and testing, leading to innovation that develops new raw materials, products, or processes. This is then integrated for use by industry, and finally connected to the market, in order to deliver value that meets consumer needs and remains competitive both domestically and internationally.”
Thailand Halal Assembly (THA) 2026, now in its 13th edition, will also feature the 19th Halal Science, Industry and Business (HASIB) Conference — a key platform for exchanging knowledge in Halal science, technology, innovation, and industry. This year’s conference will center on the
Speaking about the partnership, Dr. Pornpimol added: “Thailand Halal Assembly will focus on science, research, technology, and innovation, while Bangkok Halal Expo will serve as the space for entrepreneurs, products, trade, and investment.”
“When these two components come together, entrepreneurs will be able to see which research findings or technologies can be applied to their own products or manufacturing processes, while researchers will gain direct insight into real challenges from industry and the market. This also creates opportunities for business matching, international networking, and the opening of new markets for Thai entrepreneurs.”
Mr. Surapol Utintu, Chief Executive Officer of the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center and Managing Director of N.C.C. Management and Development Co., Ltd. — organizer of Bangkok Halal Expo 2026 — said: “With Thailand possessing strengths in manufacturing capability, knowledge, science, innovation, and standards that build confidence in our products and services, the next challenge is connecting this potential with the market — while ensuring Thai products and services are grounded in science and standards to strengthen competitiveness and readiness to enter markets with differing regulations and requirements across countries.”
“Bangkok Halal Expo therefore serves as a business platform connecting Thai entrepreneurs, products, services, and manufacturing capabilities with buyers, importers, distributors, retailers, investors, and business partners both domestically and internationally.”
“For 2026, we are targeting more than 10,000 attendees, approximately 150–200 exhibition booths, and at least 1,000 business matching sessions, while connecting buyer networks and business partners from over 30 countries — particularly across the OIC, ASEAN, and BIMSTEC markets, along with other high-potential markets. This is achieved in collaboration with the Thai Muslim Trade Association (TMTA), and with support from the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP), the Institute for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ISMED), the National Food Institute (NFI), and the Thailand Middle East Entrepreneur Development Institute (TME).”
“The collaboration with Thailand Halal Assembly connects knowledge, science, innovation, manufacturing, and standards with the market — creating market access for Thai entrepreneurs and paving the way for new trading partners, new markets, investment, and a business pipeline that can continue to grow well beyond the event itself.”
